LIMITED TO 3-5 WRITERS · CLOSES MID-AUGUST
Get your opening pages, synopsis. & query letter reviewed before they go out
A focused, one-time review with Katherine, before your manuscript goes to agents or publishers
Closes when 5 spots fill, I'm away from mid August
Your synopsis is technically accurate, but you're not sure it's compelling. You've rewritten your query letter four times and it still doesn't sound like you, or like the book.
And once it's out, it's out.
There's no second first impression with an agent or publisher.
This is a one-time, focused offer to get real, experienced eyes on the exact materials that decide whether your book gets read further...
or you never get a reply.
I'm not taking on new 1:1 coaching clients while I'm gone. Before I go, I'm opening a small number of spots for writers who are close to submitting and want one clear, honest pass on their submissions package first.
Here's exactly what happens once you're in
Your first 30 pages, your synopsis, and your query letter.
A full markup of your opening pages, plus short written notes on your synopsis and query.
45–60 minutes, 1:1, working through what needs to change and why. Want to practise your pitch out loud? We'll do that too (it's included).
THIS IS A GOOD FIT IF
✔️ You're preparing to submit to agents or publishers soon
✔️ Your opening, synopsis, or query has been rewritten more than once and you're not sure it's improving
✔️ You want a straight, experienced read (not vague encouragement)
✔️ You know something isn't landing, but can't quite see what
WHAT'S INCLUDED

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if my books is ready to pitch?
Honestly, you don't. Not for certain, and neither does anyone else.
The more useful question isn't, 'Is it ready?'
It's this: Is this the version you're willing to fail on?
Will you have regrets if it goes out as-is? That's usually what 'is it ready' is actually asking.
What if it's already ready?
If you're asking, that's often a sign it isn't. Not always, but enough to take seriously. And if I read your pages and don't have real edits to give you, I'll say so. We won't manufacture problems that aren't there. In that case, you're only out a $200 reading fee, not the full amount.
Is this about locking me into longer-term coaching?
No. This is a one-off. If you want to talk about ongoing coaching afterwards, we can see if it's a fit, but longer-term coaching is really about timing: where you're at, what you actually need next. Sounds like right now, this is all you need.
I’m an internationally published, award nominated author of four books. For several years I co-hosted The First Time podcast, where I interviewed more than 150+ authors about how books are made and careers are built.
That means I’ve seen writing life from many angles: as a writer myself, as someone inside the publishing process, as an interviewer, and as a coach working closely with writers on their own turning points.
I understand how hard it can be to see your own work clearly, how personal setbacks can feel, and how easy it is to lose time circling when what you really need is perspective.
What I offer is experienced, practical support that looks at both the writing and the writer, so you can create better and better books, and build a writing life that gets bigger over time.
